Starting with the humble bed in 1954, Proton Caretec has developed a range of different products for hospitals and care homes. Beds, bedside tables, trolleys, plinths and other associated products are included in our selection.

Our Story
Since the start in 1954 we have delivered over 500,000 beds, bedside tables, plinths and trolleys to hospitals and care homes around the world. In the middle of the 1960s, Eneryda Vårdprodukter, as the company was then known, was a large sub-supplier to Swedish health care suppliers. The company was bought by LIC, who retained ownership until 1990, when Eneryda Vårdprodukter was acquired by Proton group.
A new generation of hospital beds
Shortly thereafter we changed our name to Proton Caretech. We took a big step forward in 1992 when we launched our first hospital and care home beds. In 1997 we developed a new generation of hospital beds under the name EVABed. This was followed by a global first in the year 2000, when e-bed was launched. A completely new kind of environmentally-adapted home care bed weighing only 95 kg (less than half the weight of a conventional bed). E-bed can be assembled by one person without the aid of tools. The introduction was complemented by a number of new products in the following years.

Quality in practical terms
Our background, comprising more than fifty years of accumulated experience, means that we have the very best of expertise. We know what quality means in practical terms – everything from technology to materials, from service to support. Our base is the Nordic region, but we also enjoy sales in several other markets. Production takes place in Värnamo, which is also home to our head office. We have annual sales 75 MSEK and 30 employees.
Business idea
Based on a long-term perspective, we will develop, manufacture and market the smartest solutions for beds and ancillary equipment with a priority in selected markets. We aim at selected market segments within modern healthcare in the public sector.
